Post-harvest operations and product utilization studies on bangos Chanos chanos (Forskal)
This paper, although with its limitations, attempts to review in a nutshell the recent investigations made locally on the utilization aspects of bangos. Cost analyses and feasibility studies on the manufacture of various products require more intensive study, however. It is apparent that the development of the bangos processing industry will depend initially on the quantity of raw material made available to the fish processor. -

Distribution and occurrence of milkfish Chanos chanos (Forskal)
The geographic distribution of Chanos chanos; Family - Chanidae: Order Isospondyli, is discussed from available literature sources as well as actual surveys made by the writer. The existence of the species in natural waters as well as its culture in specific areas are noted. The seasonal occurrence and distribution of milkfish fry which is the basis of aquaculture for this species is enumerated. An attempt is also made to describe the nature of distribution of the species in the countries where surveys have been made or where data is available. -

Sabalo spawning
This paper is a brief presentation on the status of natural and artificial reproduction of bangos and a recommendation on general approaches researchers may take in solving fry needs while working toward bangos domestication. As with all other aspects of bangos biology and life history, science has surprisingly very little knowledge about spawning and reproduction. Essentially, no new information has been generated since Schuster's (1960) synopsis. -

Bangos nursery operation in the Philippines
The high mortality in raising bangos fry to fingerlings is one of the major drawbacks in chanos culture. Improvements made on the traditional method of bangos nursery operation considering the management by fishpond operators in the Philippines is presented in this paper.
